Teaching and Training

A primary goal for the Center for Research on Child Wellbeing is to ensure that every project we engage in has a teaching or training component. We meet the teaching/training mission by hosting bi-monthly workshops and graduate courses at Princeton, Columbia University, and the University of Pennsylvania. At CRCW, students, faculty and the public can enjoy public lectures on children’s policy at our public speaker series . We also co-sponsor several seminars with the Office of Population Research (OPR), the Center for Health and Wellbeing (CHW), and other Sociology Department workshops and seminars.

Our projects -- the Future of Children, and the Fragile Families Study each contribute to the training of students and young scholars. Princeton undergraduates have access to the Fragile Families Study data for their senior theses. Graduate students and post doctoral fellows attend bi-monthly workshops based on the data. The Future of Children sponsors Master’s level courses (through the Woodrow Wilson School) which focus on journal topics. Students also participate in Future of Children conferences. MPA students also take course on evaluation that focus on children and youth.
